Girls’ Brigade

Girls' Brigade logoThe Girls’ Brigade meet on Fridays throughout the year, in age groups as follows:

  • 6.00 – 8.00pm:
    Explorers (5-8yrs) & Juniors (8-11yrs)
  • 8.00 – 10.00pm:
    Seniors (11-14yrs) & Brigaders (14-18yrs)

Please see the calendar for any schedule changes.

The Girls’ Brigade is a uniformed organisation that is part of the Church. The 1st Sydenham Company is one of thirteen Companies which make up our District. We meet up with these other Companies for activity days, praise parties, sports days, swimming galas, competitions and occasional social events.

During our weekly meetings we spend time working on the badges that the girls can earn, which cover a varied range of activities under four headings: Spiritual, Physical, Education and Service. We also play games, do craft and cooking and work towards competitions.

During the year we also fundraise for our own Company and for Demelza House Children’s Hospice in Eltham.

We are always pleased to welcome new members. Please ask at a Sunday service or turn up at the appropriate time on a Friday to find out more. For more information, contact the Captain, Diane Barton.
