Garden update

It’s been a busy time in the garden over the last two months.

Roses in OctoberI have removed all of the summer bedding plants and summer bulbs from the main garden: this was done, along with the weeding, at the end of September.

Then on the 1st of October I went over to the church all day to plant the spring bulbs for next year. These include daffodils, tulips and snowdrops – the first ones for the church garden. It was a very hot day so I was drinking lots of water.

All in all, the whole job from start to finish took just over six and a half hours. We now have well over 180 different bulbs!

In addition to the bulbs, I have also have planted some winter pansies & violas in the main garden & also at the front of the church. We also have a new evergreen bush just down from the disabled ramp, which came from my mum’s and my garden as part a revamp to my garden.

Next month will be my review of 2011. As always, if anyone has any ideas for the garden, please see me at any time.

Congratulations to Steven for doing a good job with the garden. It has been a joy to walk down the border and to see all the colour that he has created. Well done Steve and keep it going!
