Garden update

The Memorial Garden at the end of August 2011First of all, I hope everyone had a great summer holiday.

The roses, summer bulbs & bedding plants have been in full bloom since my last report in July. The gladioli have come & gone but everyone said how wonderful they looked in August. The roses seem to be doing well – all have flowered at least 3 times or more this year. The geraniums in the pots are still in full bloom and showing no signs of weakening at the moment.

This month I will be digging out the summer bulbs & planting in the spring bulbs for next year. I had £20 left in the garden fund so I have invested in some more spring bulbs. We now have our first snowdrops & some more tulips, something we did not have much of before.

This is also the time if you would like to order or buy yourself a rose to place in the garden. There is still lots of space left, or if you would prefer you could give a cash donation to buy some more bulbs for next spring or summer. As always, if you have any suggestions or ideas for the garden please see me at any time & I will be happy to help.
